Community Outreach...

JANUARY

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is observed on the third Monday in January as a “day on, not a day off”. MLK Jr. Day is the first federal holiday to be designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

In addition to on-going community outreach, SHIELD INC. RESOURCE EVENTS INCLUDE:

ANNUAL MLK JR WEEKEND OF SERVICE

Community  Blanket Giveaway

Mon. – MLK Jr. Day of Service:

Donations of: Sheets, Towels, Detergent, Cleaning Supplies, and / or Household Goods, etc. are delivered to local Women’s Domestic Violence Shelters.

Additional Donations: Diapers, baby wipes, diaper disposal bags, Dreft detergent, baby blankets and baby / kids clothes (all sizes).

MARCH / SPRING GIVEAWAY

includes food, diapers, wipes, hygiene items, socks and other items.

SUMMER GIVEAWAY

includes back-to-school supplies, diapers, wipes hygiene items, socks and other items.

NOVEMBER

SHIELD Inc. in partnership with Morongo Band of Mission Indians and a local church, prepares and distributes food boxes and turkeys to the community.

DECEMBER

SHIELD Inc. provides Christmas gifts to the women and children of local domestic violence / family crisis shelters.
